Events
Classes The first class commences at 2pm on Saturday 31st July. Book in early and take advantage of this extra class.
Classes with the Guest Instructors and BAF Shidoin, continue each day from Sunday 1st August to Friday 6th August, starting with special sword classes at 6.30am. taken by a BAF Shidoin. Regular Aikido classes begin daily at 9.00am in the morning and after a break for lunch, at 2.00pm in the afternoon and run until 5.30pm.
In addition to the regular schedule of Aikido classes above, there will be additional lunchtime classes.
Both the lunchtime and Saturday classes are included at no extra cost for those attending Summer School, for those wishing to attend for Saturday only, there will be a £10 charge.
Gala Dinner Following the success of the Gala dinners in recent years there will be another celebratory dinner on campus on Friday evening. With the guests of honour being our visiting overseas instructors.
This meal is open to anyone wishing to attend and will cost £15 per person, this fee also includes a complimentary drink to celebrate the occasion. As numbers need to be confirmed early we ask that applications and non-refundable deposits be submitted before arrival at Summer School. Places will be limited so please book early.
Social Events The College has an on site and recently refurbished bar and social events during the week will include bar extensions, entertainment and farewell Disco and Prize Draw on Friday night. By special arrangement with the University, children under 18 are allowed in a supervised section of the bar until 8pm.
BAB Coach Course This course will only be held if we are notified in advance that there will be sufficient attendees. If you wish to take part, please let us know as soon as possible.
Subject to demand (minimum of ten attendees required) we will be running a BAB Coach Course. This will be conducted by a BAB Association Tutor. The course timetable will include both a theory and a practical session. The dates and times of which will be posted shortly.
Candidates for the course must be over 18 years of age, graded to 1st kyu or above. Candidates successfully completing the course will be awarded full BAB Coach status along with appropriate certification.
The fee for this course is £20 per person and is in addition to any other Summer School fees. It is recommended that anyone wishing to attend should register their place with Stephen Parr as soon as possible via the contact details on this site. If for whatever reason a registered place is cancelled, please let us know so that the position can be reallocated.
Places on this course are limited to a maximum of 20 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
First Aid Course This course will only be held if we are notified in advance that there will be sufficient attendees. If you wish to take part, please let us know as soon as possible.
Should sufficient interest be expressed we will be holding a first aid course during Summer School at cost of £15 per person. The course is run by a fully qualified tutor and covers the basic skills which may be necessary in a dojo.
