previously posted.....

As you all will be aware, at the B.A.F annual General Meeting, held each year at summer school, all posts on the national committee are subject to re-election, with the exception of the post of vice chairman of the Technical and Grading committee (a position currently held by Don Morgan) which is an appointed position at the discretion of Kanetsuka sensei in his capacity as Chairman of the Technical and Grading committee.

The present incumbents for the posts are;

Chairman - Peter Gillard
Vice chairman - David Yates
General secretary - Peter Megann
Treasurer - Andrew Peterson
Child protection Officer - Andrew Peterson
2 x Senior members - Ian McClarence and Ken Marsden

If any member of the BAF wishes to stand for any of these posts, they should submit their names, together with the names of their proposer and seconder to the General Secretary before the AGM, although in exceptional circumstances nominations will be accepted at the AGM.

The nominee, their proposer and seconder MUST be present at the AGM to stand and all must be current BAF members.

This year the post of General Secretary will become vacant as Peter Megann, after many years of valuable and exceptional service to the BAF, has decided to stand down from that position.

Should any member wish to stand for that post, please follow the above procedure.  Should any prospective nominees wish to be advised of the duties performed by the General Secretary, Peter Megann will forward you details on request.

I am sure you will all want to wish Peter all the very best and many, many thanks for all the hard work he has put in for the benefit of the BAF over many years.  Your attendance at the AGM would support that.

B.A.F Chairman

Peter Gillard
